Position Vacant - NSWIS Canoe Sprint - Squad Coach
In partnership with the New South Wales Institute of Sport (NSWIS), Australian Canoeing is looking for a progressive and energetic Canoe Sprint Coach to work in a dynamic high performance environment. Part time - Sydney Northern Beaches (NSW)
As the NSWIS High Performance Squad Coach, you will be responsible for coaching and managing the day-to-day activities of the successful NSWIS North Side Squad based at Narrabeen Lake as well as overseeing new development initiatives.
In this position you will be required to maximise the services and opportunities provided by the NSWIS, travel interstate for camps and competitions and be available for national team or squad duties if required by Australian Canoeing.
Key challenges will be adding to the past success of the NSWIS squad while helping build a sustainable elite athlete pathway for the sport in partnership with Australian Canoeing, Paddle NSW, National Surf and Kayak Talent Program and the Australian Sports Commission’s National Talent Identification and Development Program.
National Coach Accreditation Scheme or equivalent and experience working with elite and potential elite athletes are essential.
Position will commence in April 2010 and be available until 31 December 2010 in line with current program funding. Following the completion of a successful program review, and subject to ongoing partnership funding, an extension may be offered until 31 December 2012.
