The ICF ranking series is a series of international competitions including World Cups and World Championships that is used to determine international athlete rankings and nation quotas for World Cup events.
Points are awarded for performances at each ICF ranking event on a sliding scale based on the quality of the international field. The best three results from the series of races are used to calculate an athlete’s overall ranking.
The Australian Canoeing senior selection panel will nominate up to 6 boats per class for ICF ranking series events in 2013 as follows:
The Oceania Championships and Australian Open are open events and nomination for ranking points does not constitute membership of an Australian team or affect an athlete’s right to participate in this event or to be selected to Australian Teams in 2013.
The AC selection panel will make nominations for the Australian Open and Oceania Championships according to the following criteria:
In the first instance, consideration will only be given to Athletes nominating for Australian teams in 2013 and intending to compete in ICF ranking races in 2013.
Nominations to other ICF ranking races will be determined by the selection panel following the completion of national senior team selection series in March.
