Jess Fox at London Olympics
The final day of the fourth ICF Slalom World Cup is underway with Jessica Fox and Rosalyn Lawrence advancing to the K1W final.
Fox recorded the fastest semifinal time of 117.97 to finish 2.62 seconds ahead of Austrian Corinna Kuhnle, with 2012 World Cup series champion Eva Tercelj finishing third on her home course.
The 19 year old will be hoping to make it two from two in the final after winning gold in the C1 women’s event on Saturday.
Lawrence faced an anxious wait with more than 14 athletes still to come after she produced a time of 124.75 which included a two second penalty for a gate touch.
Her time was just good enough with the versatile paddler sneaking into the final, securing the last spot in tenth position.
Victorian Sarah Grant also contested the semifinal finishing 19th, 13.45 seconds behind Fox.
The final is scheduled to commence at 8:02pm Australian Eastern Standard Time (10:02am local Slovenian time).
8:02pm – K1W Finals
8:32pm – C2M Finals
